One of the things I’ve been thinking about lately is the idea of independence versus interdependence.

As business owners, especially in the massage and wellness industry, we often celebrate independence. In fact, for many of us, independence was the reason we started our businesses in the first place. We wanted freedom: freedom from a boss, freedom from being told when we could take holidays, and freedom to choose our clients, our hours, our pricing, and our direction. Independence is incredibly attractive because, for many people, it represents choice.

But what I’ve noticed over the years is that independence isn’t where growth ends. It’s just one stage of the journey.
