Any massage therapist will tell you that practicing bodywork takes spirit – a lot of it! Burnout is a state of physical, emotional, and spiritual depletion that manifests as a loss of motivation, feelings of cynicism, digestive issues, fatigue, a compromised immune system, and even depression. A key to protecting our bodywork practices is taking good care of our spirits. This series of Massage & Bodywork articles gives us a number of strategies that help us bring the heart back to our work.
