The Massage Educator was developed by ABMP to reach out to massage instructors, promote the sharing of information, and acknowledge instructors' special contribution to the massage profession. The content of this quarterly publication is focused on introducing a variety of learning strategies useful in massage classrooms, classroom management issues, and teacher self-care. For example, the first issue looks at how to set the tone on the first day of class, and reducing teacher stress. Other issues discuss such topics as self-evaluation tools, "ice-breaker" activities, organizational plans, the teacher's role in student retention, and principles of active learning.
