Massage & Bodywork: You discovered MYCO CLINIC through an ABMP article. What caught your attention and made you want to try the products?

Denise Schroeder, LMT: The therapist featured in the article mentioned that MYCO CLINIC had “changed her practice,” which stuck with me. She also talked about functional mushrooms as a key part of the formulations. I was already familiar with their role in reducing inflammation, but I hadn’t come across them in a topical massage product before. When I looked into the ingredients list—seeing arnica, ginger, and turmeric alongside the mushrooms—it felt like an effective, holistic approach. That was really my introduction to MYCO CLINIC and what led me to start exploring the products in my own practice.

M&B: MYCO CLINIC uses different mushrooms in its formulations. What stood out to you about that mushroom blend?

DS: What stood out to me was how intentional the blend felt. In bodywork, I’m always thinking about inflammation, pain management, circulation, and how I can help the body feel more at ease. Reishi, lion’s mane, Cordyceps, and shiitake each have their own traditional uses, and together they felt like a strong foundation for therapeutic support. When I saw them paired with other ingredients I already trust, like arnica, ginger, and turmeric, the formulations made sense to me and aligned with the kind of care I want to offer my clients.

M&B: Tell us a bit about your background, your practice, and the modalities you specialize in.

DS: I’ve been practicing since 2017, and I run my own practice, which allows me to choose the products I use. My clients range widely in age, with many in their 60s and 70s and even some into their late 80s. Most are dealing with everyday aches and pains. My focus is on helping people return to a place of comfort using Swedish, deep-tissue, and Chinese tui na massage techniques.

M&B: After trying MYCO CLINIC, how did you start incorporating the products into your sessions?

DS: One of my first experiences using the MYCO CLINIC products was with a client who had extremely tight hamstrings after doing yard work. I applied the Pain Relief Ointment to both legs and worked on one side for about 10 minutes. When I returned to the other leg, I estimated about a 50 percent reduction in tightness. The difference was dramatic—for both of us. I continue to see results like this regularly. It makes my work easier and allows clients to experience less discomfort, even when they come in with significant pain.

M&B: What kind of feedback have you received from clients, and have you noticed any changes in pain relief or recovery?

DS: When I started using these products on my regular clients, the feedback was immediate. They were amazed at how great they felt. Their smiles convinced me that I had found something truly special, something that makes a real difference in how I could help my clients.

M&B: What continues to inspire your work after all these years in practice?

DS: Helping people feel better is what drives me. The continual learning journey around new techniques and finding supportive products brings me joy! But the most rewarding part is putting all those components together in one treatment. When a client leaves feeling better, you can see the relief and gratitude on their face.
